Why we exist

Governance shouldn't depend on institutional memory.

Too much of hospital governance in Africa lives in the heads of a few experienced people — which works, until it doesn't. CommandCareAfrica exists to turn that knowledge into a system the whole institution can rely on.

Where it started

Built by people who have sat on both sides of the table.

CommandCareAfrica was founded by Diekola A. Sulu, who has spent close to twenty years in healthcare service development across international regions, including five years in executive management overseeing national healthcare programs.

That combination — hands-on service delivery and executive-level program oversight — is where CommandCareAfrica's four pillars came from. They aren't a theoretical framework; they're the categories that kept coming up, again and again, whenever a hospital board or ministry program needed to answer a hard question about how the institution was actually run.

Diekola continues to work directly with hospitals leadership as CommandCareAfrica's Executive Director, which keeps the platform grounded in what boards and administrators actually need — not what looks good as a pretty product.

Where we focus

Healthcare provider organisations, including private hospitals, healthcare networks, and non-governmental healthcare facilities

Healthcare provider organisations carry a disproportionate share of healthcare delivery across Africa, often with governance structures — boards, mission oversight, multi-site management — that off-the-shelf hospital software wasn't built for. CommandCareAfrica starts there, with Nigeria as our initial focus, and is built to extend across Africa.
